Panting Wolves and Dancing Squirrels

A distant drum beat, darkness, skies…
To creep one out a forest always tries…

So there’s a clearing, moonless blues…

With a bonfire this, on can confuse!

Vibrating- dancing shadows turned to spokes,

Prancing silhouettes and no one talks!

And round and round is all they go…

In circles, on sand thus dark ones flow…

There’s self- commotion once you see

And in a jiffy feel the glee…

That you’ve seen and with no perils,

Painting wolves and dancing squirrels!

Love of my life…

Hey lady, hey lady, hey lady, hey lady…
I am ready, I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready…
Let’s dance tonight… tonight… tonight…
Let’s dance tonight…
Oh, love of my life…

I see you, not far off, in that dress, with blue strands…
And I feel like heaven, descended and I am in trance…
Oh- oh- and I am in trance…
Through all this turmoil and my drunk big heavy head…
Blinding my eyes. my star is right there ahead…

Oh Tulip, oh Dahlia, oh Lily, oh Chrysanthemum…
My lady ‘s, no flower, but thanks to her Mom…
Drinking her gaze, makes me drunk even more…
But looking at you, my eyes, can never go sore…

Hey lady, hey lady, hey lady, hey lady…
I am ready, I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready…
Let’s dance tonight… tonight… tonight…
Let’s dance tonight…
Oh, love of my life…

My eyes, wide open, as if it’s for first time…
To say that to you, oh you, will be a crime…
Oh- oh- worst crime…
It’s crystal, today, but I feel, way back in time…
That finger, tells me, that love values no time…

My left hand- your waist, my right hand- your hand…
We freeze, hands raised, you twirl, I stand…
I cannot resist, I hold my breath and you so tight…
With your heart beside, I feel so light…

Hey lady, hey lady, hey lady, hey lady…
I am ready, I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready…
Let’s dance tonight… tonight… tonight…
Let’s dance tonight…
Oh, love of my life…

That Moment…

Curled mustache,
Jacket of class,
Driven by his clock,
Just like compass,
Golden clips.
He sees a lass
Hesitates not,
Starts to dance…

“I play a jazz song,”
the crowd gets in
“Where’s that guy?”
He cannot be seen!
He knows alright,
To places he’s been…
“Oh, there he is!”
Twisting the floor so keen…

“He’s a great guy!”
And tossed a coin onto the bar…
Then stretched her leg, out so far…
Like a lady, stepping out of the car…
Drum, saxophone, but not guitar!

The lass sees him,
Out in the crowd…
Twisting,
To me the singer proud…
He twists his leg,
So bold and loud…
To her moves,
It does reach out…

With lacey skirt,
At this great hour…
The lass twists back,
Just like a flower…
Approaching him,
Embarks from the door…
Boom- boom! Clap- clap!
All sing in the choir!!!

“He’s a great guy!”
And tossed a coin onto the bar…
Then stretched her leg, out so far…
Like a lady, stepping out of the car…
Drum, saxophone, but not guitar!

Getting drunk,
By each other’s sight
Waving their hands,
In tact, so right…
Falling in love,
So they might…
Looking at another,
With smile so light!

Well defined,
He catches her hand…
He turns her,
Gentle as a magic wand…
“Crank it up!
My little band!
They’re in love,
Don’t you understand?!”

“He’s a great guy!”
And tossed a coin onto the bar…
Then stretched her leg, out so far…
Like a lady, stepping out of the car…
Drum, saxophone, but not guitar!
